The National Occupational Classification (NOC) provides a detailed classification of every profession in the Canadian labour market. The NOC classifies more than 30,000 occupational titles into 516 unit groups, further divided into skill kinds and levels. These occupations have been broken down into skill levels as part of a joint initiative between Statistics Canada and Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC). Students, employees, employers, career and vocational counsellors, and educational and training organisations use the NOC.
The National Occupational Classification (NOC), according to the IRCC, are replaced on November 16, 2022, with the new 2021 version. When the new NOC codes are instated, which is expected to be in late 2022, candidates for immigration to Canada, as well as short-term work permit applicants, will be required to use the new five-digit 2021 NOC codes framework, which will substitute the four-digit configuration used in the 2016 editions of the categorization. The updated 2021 NOC codes include a new TEER subcategory for each profession, referring to the degree of Training, Education, Experience, and Roles (TEER) needed for the occupation.

Now, according to this new update, the TEER categories are discussed below. This new update also includes the correct job code for the candidate looking for jobs and immigration to Canada on the basis of their Canadian job only.
Importance of NOC for getting a job in Canada:
The National Occupation Classification (NOC) is a method used in Canada to assess the degree of skill and education required for a particular occupation or vocation. NOC codes decide whether jobs are skilled, semi-skilled, or unskilled for immigration purposes. The NOC helps to get the job category with the correct job title.
If any candidate is applying for a job in Canada and searching for a job, a NOC code is required, actually, it is the most important factor in the search for the correct job. For Canada PR, you need to submit the exact NOC code for the job profile you are working on.
Also, if you are looking for job assistance from a Canadian job consultant you need to identify the correct NOC code which will help them with the hassle-free process of a job with immigration as well as Canada PR.
