Key Factors of Express Entry
PNP Nomination Adds 600 Points: This dramatically boosts your CRS score and improves your chance of receiving an ITA.
Category-Based Selections: IRCC targets candidates in specific occupations like healthcare, transport, trades, and agriculture, or those with French proficiency.
Lower CRS for Category-Based Draws: These cut-offs are generally much lower compared to regular or PNP-specific draws.
Express Entry Draws in 2024
Healthcare Occupations: 3,500 ITAs were issued on February 14, with a minimum CRS of 422.
French Language Proficiency: 7,000 ITAs in February 2024, CRS as low as 365.
Trades: 1,800 ITAs on July 4, CRS of 436.
Why CRS Scores Matter
The CRS score determines your rank in the Express Entry pool. Higher scores mean:
Better chances of receiving an ITA.
Faster processing of your PR application.
If your CRS score is low, you can:
Improve Language Proficiency: Higher IELTS or French TEF scores.
Gain Work Experience in Canada: Apply for a Canadian work permit.
Get a PNP Nomination: Adds 600 points to your score.
