February 2025 Express Entry Draw Trends
The latest CRS cutoff in the French proficiency draw was 428, making it one of the lowest scores seen in category-based selections.
So far, 11,601 ITAs have been issued in February 2025.
IRCC is focusing on Canadian Experience Class (CEC) and Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) candidates to meet its 2025-2026 immigration targets.
Understanding ITA & Landings in Canada
An Invitation to Apply (ITA) is issued to Express Entry candidates who meet the CRS score cutoff in a particular draw. However, a landing occurs when a candidate arrives in Canada and officially receives Permanent Resident (PR) status. The 2025-2027 Immigration Levels Plan aims to bring 82,890 PR admissions under the In-Canada Focus category.
How to Improve Your CRS Score in Express Entry?
If you didn’t receive an ITA in the latest Canada Express Entry Draw, here are some key ways to boost your CRS score:
Apply for a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP)
A PNP nomination adds 600 points to your CRS score, ensuring an ITA in the next Express Entry draw.
Look for PNP streams aligned with Express Entry for enhanced nominations.
Improve Language Scores
Higher IELTS or TEF scores can add up to 310 CRS points (or 320 with a spouse/partner).
Consider retaking the language test if needed.
Make Your Spouse/Partner the Principal Applicant
If your spouse has a higher CRS score, they should apply as the primary applicant.
Submitting separate profiles can also increase your chances.
Gain Additional Education Credentials
A second degree or certification can add up to 200 CRS points.
Consider getting an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) for foreign degrees.
Acquire More Work Experience
Canadian and foreign work experience adds substantial CRS points.
Ensure that your job duties align with NOC codes to receive maximum points.
Why Canada PNP Draws are Important?
Canada PNP Draws provide an excellent alternative pathway to PR, especially for candidates with lower CRS scores. Since Express Entry Draws have high CRS cutoffs, many applicants receive ITAs through PNPs, which are held frequently by provinces such as Ontario, British Columbia, Saskatchewan, and Alberta.
Upcoming Express Entry Draws & Predictions
IRCC is expected to continue category-based draws in 2025, focusing on French-speaking candidates, healthcare workers, STEM professionals, and skilled tradespersons.
More PNP Draws are likely as provinces aim to fill labor shortages.
CRS cutoff scores may vary, but express entry candidates with CRS scores above 470 have a higher chance of receiving an ITA.
