Ontario Province is located in central Canada and is the most eminent destination for immigrants showing up in Canada. The Provincial Nominee Program of Ontario gets its name from the OINP – Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program. This is operated by the Government of Ontario along with the federal immigration council (IRCC).

There are three different ways you might fit the bill for a nomination:

• Business Category: For business, entrepreneurs trying to start a new or buy an existing business. This comprises a few migration classes that target candidates needed for the workforce in the area. Immigrants with educational or work experience, know both French and English, and those with profiles in Express Entry can be effective through:

OINP Draws: The territory of Ontario leads an OINP draw each month. It offers NOI (Notifications of Interest) to Express Entry pool candidates. They also invite them for Nomination applications through OINP streams lined up with Express Entry. The strategy and details used for each search get reported after the draws take place.

Requirements to apply for the OINP:

There are certain basic requirements that a candidate has to fulfill while applying for an OINP, such as –

1. Appropriate work experience: The candidate should have a minimum work experience of at least 1 year that is paid and full-time. The work experience should be categorized in the National Occupation Classification list. The work experience should not be older than 5 years.

3. Education level: You must possess a Graduate, Postgraduate, or Doctorate degree and also submit an ECA (Educational Credential Assessment) Report while applying for the OINP visa.

5. Language proficiency: A candidate should have the proficiency level of a minimum of 6 bands in all the 4 parameters of IELTS such as reading, writing, listening, and speaking.

7. Age: You should be of the minimum age of 18 and maximum age of 49 to be eligible to apply.

9. Settlement plan: You must have a settlement plan to ensure the government of Ontario that you want to live permanently there.

Jobs in-demand: Every year, the government of Ontario publishes a list of in-demand jobs on its official portal. This helps the job-seekers to apply for the required job and also helps the employers to choose qualified candidates.

How to apply?

• There are a few steps that you can follow to apply for OINP –
• Firstly, you have to fulfill the 67 point system and have an adequate CRS score.
• Then you should create your Express Entry profile. Your profile should meet the minimum CRS score decided by the OINP for further processes.
• If your score meets the minimum requirements, you will receive a ‘Notification of Interest’ and you will become eligible to apply for the nomination.

For Express Entry appliers, the application processing time is from 30 to 60 days for the skilled workers. For the non-Express Entry appliers, the processing time might extend up to 15-19 months or so.
